This is a Breyer Stock Horse Stallion with a San Domingo head, originally customized by Judy Renee Pope in 1996. I repaired, resculpted, and repainted him in 2003 to a portrait of "Old Baldy," General Meade's favorite steed from the civil war. I've sculpted in loads of details, including furry ears and many old wounds, including scars from pieces of shell which pierced his neck in one battle and his ribs in another, both of which almost killed him. The little fellow managed to survive the war and even outlived General Meade himself. Owned by Shay Canfield, Old Baldy won a Top Ten in CM Western Games at the 2004 NAN, and was Reserve Champion CM Other Breed at ZEBRA 2003 and GEM 2004.
